🚀 Mission 1: Changing Diapers

Before a child is potty trained, we change them an average of 6,000 times. That's 1,000,000,000 plastic disposable diapers in the Netherlands each year. And a large part of that is unnecessary: a combination of timely potty training and using (part-time) washable diapers can prevent a large part of the impact and residual waste.

‍

The goal of this mission is to reduce disposable diaper use by 50% in 2030 in western Europe. In a country like the Netherlands, timely potty training can account for half of this objective. Stimulating (part-time) use of cloth diapers for the other part.

We’ve started three initiatives contributing to this goal:

Daycares: become more sustainable and save on diaper and waste with our ladder for sustainable diaper use

Childcare centers can save 20-25% on their diaper costs, diaper waste, and changing time. We assist in communicating with parents and have developed an educationally responsible potty training program for parents and their children.

Government: work with us on research and campaigns to reduce diaper waste and fight (diaper) poverty

Our approach with timely potty training and encouraging (part-time) use of cloth diapers saves a lot of waste and also a lot of money for the parents (±€500/year)
